    Matsya Jayanti Vrata

Following the pathway of Sanatan culture when we dig into the creation of this universe and world, it resembles the first avatar of Lord Vishnu which was the fish. This fish avatar is known as Matsya avatar, this resembles the theory of evolution by Darwin where he states the evolution journey from the unicellular creature, aquatic reformation till today's form of manhood. Matsya Avataar during the Satya Yuga (Initial Yuga of Sanatana era), Matsya appeared during the apocalyptic phase and this fish was a one-horned fish with immense power.

Recalling the role of Matsya avatar during the apocalypse

In every Tritiya 93rd day) of during the bright fortnight of the moon on Chaitra month, Matsya Jayanti is observed recalling the role of Matsya avatar during the apocalypse. This Jayanti occurs in between the Chaitra Navaratri, this Navaratri is the exact replica of Bada Dashain's Navaratri which honors different forms of Goddesses Durga. Matsya Jayanti is a specific day, a huge crowd is seen in the temples of Lord Vishnu with a grand celebration and divinity. the vrata refrains observers from even drinking water, nights are commemorated together with chants and prayers offered to Lord Vishnu. Reciting Matsya Purana and Vishnu Sahastranam is very auspicious, May Lord Vishnu who is gloriously present on the Sesh Naag, who loves the lotus plant and whose omnipresence manifests the truth and compassion in this globe and further, may he bless us and bless this mankind.

Wishes for a meaningful Matsya Jayanti

    Gauri Vrata

    Gauri Pujan Mantra

    ॐ गौरी परमेशानी सौभाग्यं संततिं शुभाम्।

    प्रयच्छ मे नमस्तुभ्यं देवि माङ्गल्यरूपिणि॥

(Meaning: O Goddess Gauri, the Supreme Divine! Grant me good fortune, prosperity, and the blessing of children. I bow to you in reverence.)

    Saubhagya Gauri Vrata

On the day of Chaitra Shukla Tritiya, Gauri Puja is observed. Both married women and unmarried girls observe this fast with the desire to attain unbroken good fortune. This vrata is also known as Gan Gaur Vrat, Gauri Tritiya, Saubhagya Gauri Vrat, and Gauri Puja.

At this time, the harvest is nearly complete—wheat crops have been reaped, and the grains have been gathered. With the beginning of the new year, the open skies and long evenings give a glimpse of the lengthening days.

    18-Day Vrata Duration

Typically, this vrata begins on the day of Chaitra Sankranti and concludes today. Based on the lunar phases, it is observed for 18 days, starting from Chaitra Krishna Paksha and ending on Shukla Tritiya.

However, according to the Shiva Purana, it is mentioned that Goddess Parvati observed this vrata for five days, through which she was able to attain Lord Shiva as her husband. Regardless, this vrata holds equal significance for both Parvati and Shiva. It symbolizes the commitment of both husband and wife to support and respect each other throughout their lives.

This vrata can also be seen as a welcoming of the upcoming monsoon. May the clouds that carry water bring abundant rainfall and coolness. May everyone’s wishes be fulfilled.

Best wishes to all on this auspicious occasion!

    World Poetry Day

World Poetry Day is celebrated every year on March 21. This day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1999. The main objective of this day is to promote linguistic diversity through poetry, preserve endangered languages, and honor the contributions of poets worldwide.

Poetry has always been a powerful medium for connecting emotions, respecting diversity, and building understanding and harmony among people. This year’s theme emphasizes the importance of bringing different cultures, communities, and perspectives closer together through poetry. It promotes the message of equality, unity, and creating an inclusive environment for all.

On this occasion, various poetry readings, literary gatherings, creative workshops, and cultural programs are organized around the world, including Nepal. Through poetry, this campaign seeks to spread messages of peace and inclusion while strengthening positive dialogue, love, and unity. It is expected to inspire new energy and creativity globally.
