ॐ
रामाय रामचन्द्राय रामभद्राय वेधसे।
रघुनाथाय नाथाय सीतायाः पतये नमः॥
Heartfelt obeisance to Lord Rama, Ramabhadra, Ramachandra, Lord of all Vedas, and Lord Rama of Sita Mata, the leader of Raghu dynasty.
According to Bhavishya Purana, Lord Krishna Himself has mentioned that those who fast for Adhika Mass, give alms, and keep the body and soul pure will get many outcomes, sins, and sufferings will be redeemed. The Padma Purana also combines Adhikamas and Shri Krishna and says in his own words that it is necessary for every human being to give alms, pilgrimages, and light lamps in Adhikamas.
What is Malamas or Adhikamass?
The month calculated according to the motion of the sun is called the solar and the date calculated according to the motion of the moon is called the lunar. The solar month usually lasts 29 to 32 days, while the lunar month lasts 29 days 12 hours 44 minutes, and 24 seconds from one full moon to another. Generally, dates/ Tithis can be understood as lunar months and days as solar months. Thus, in the calculation of the solar month, there is a year of 365 days, and in the calculation of the lunar month, there is a year of 354 days. Thus each year the lunar month is 11 days later than the solar month and in 3 years there are 33 days differentiating between the lunar month and the solar month which is reconciled with Adhikamas or Malamas. Once Malamas or Adhikamass arrives, it will not come for 3 years.

Sombare Aunshi , Monday no moon night
Sombare Aunshi has a specific significance in Nepal, this dates back to January 2, 1990, when an earthquake of 8.4 Richter scale struck Nepal. This day was Monday no moon day or Monday Aaunshi. And that Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, and Rahu were in the same zodiac sign.
Even today is Monday and its Aunshi. The day that falls on a no moon on Monday is called a Monday Aunshi. According to our calendar, one Monday falls every seven days and one no moon day falls every month. Even today is Monday. After the earthquake, Aunshi was seen on Monday with terror and fear, but not so, the greatness and importance of Aunshi on Monday has been inseparable and unbroken for centuries.
But the coincidence of Mondays and no moon day is only occasional that it happens just once a twice a year. This festival is considered auspicious for bathing or giving alms. Devotees from far and wide visit various pilgrimage stalls only for bathing.
According to Hindu scriptures, observing silence, taking a ritual bath, and engaging in meditation on this day are believed to bring spiritual merit. Monday is associated with the Moon, which symbolizes the mind, while the Sun is regarded as a symbol of intellect. Monday is also considered the day of Lord Shiva, and this day is especially dedicated to Him.
This day is regarded as highly auspicious for ritual bathing and charitable acts. Devotees often travel long distances to sacred pilgrimage sites to take a holy bath on this occasion. According to Hindu tradition, being blessed with the opportunity to observe Sombare Aunsi is considered a matter of great fortune and divine grace. It is even said that some characters from the Mahabharata did not receive the opportunity to experience a Sombare Aunsi during their lifetimes, highlighting the special significance attributed to this sacred day.
Matsyanarayan Mela Samapti
मत्स्यनारायण मेला समाप्ति
विशेष अडियो सामग्री
A month-long fair is held in Malmas at Matsyanarayan's Prastar Temple, which is about 8 km southwest of Kathmandu, whereas in normal years, the fair is held only one day. Thousands and millions of devotees come to visit this fair. During the Malamas period, there is a tradition of worshiping Narayan / reciting Purushottam Mahatmya at the Machhenarayan Temple, four km south of Kirtipur. It is also mentioned in the scriptures that worshiping Lord Narayan destroys all sins. The temple has an artistic entrance of a Garuda wearing a golden jalap and a one-foot-tall four-armed idol with conch shell, chakra, donkey and Padma manifested through the mouth of a fish.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
विश्व अग्रज दुर्व्यवहार जागरुकता दिवस
Exclusive audio
Background of elderly abuse day
World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is commemorated each year on June 15th to highlight one of the worst manifestations of ageism and inequality in our society, elder abuse.
Elder abuse is any act that causes harm to an older person and is carried out by someone they know and trust, such as a family member or friend. The abuse may be physical, social, financial, psychological, or sexual and can include mistreatment and neglect.
WEAAD was officially recognized by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2011, following a request by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA), who first established the commemoration in June 2006.
In many parts of the world, elder abuse occurs with little recognition or response. It is a global social issue that affects the health, well-being, independence, and human rights of millions of older people worldwide and an issue that deserves the attention of all in the community.
Now in Nepal, due to more foreign employment and immigration, older generations are forced to live alone in villages. They wait for weeks and months just to receive a call and messages of the children abroad, every one among us, let's keep their expectations in our hearts. The reserved seats for elderly people and some allowances are not enough, let's value their existence, experiences, voices, and expectations.
Utmost love to all elderly people.
