Prithivi Jayanti/ Rashtriya Ekata Diwas
विशेष अडियो सामग्री
The definitions of political poles could be different but all poles should be under the same umbrella in national interest. But it didn't happen here in Nepal. Sometimes, I think, how wonderful will it be to implement the Dibyopadesh's line to line in Nepali parliament and policies?
Nepal again needs a leader like Prithivi Narayan Shah, maybe not as a king or could be, but definitely as a strong and nationalist leader.
Life of King Prithivi Narayan Shah and Bir Gorkhali doctrine.
About 300 years ago, Nepal was divided into small kingdoms of Baisey and chaubisey Rajyas. An average state then, Gorkha, where Prithvi Narayan Shah was born in the royal family. This great king is considered to be the exponent of the structure, dream, realization of the Greater Nepal, and Gorkhali Bir doctrine.
This king is seen as a visionary and symbolic leader not only in Nepal but also in South Asia and across the globe. Prithvi Narayan Shah's birth anniversary is celebrated every year on the 27th of Poush. On this day, National Unity Day is celebrated not only as the birthday of a king but also as the day when the trumpet of Nepaliness is blown as an alarm to every Nepali.
In the time of Prithvi Narayan Shah, there was Nepali territory from the then Punjab which is now under India to Sikkim and Nepal was much bigger than today's Nepal.
International politics of 18th and 19th century and rise of nationalist forces
If we look at the international politics of the 18th and 19th centuries, it seems that the various countries of the present giant have been united at the same time. Wars were fought all over the world at that time to bring everyone from small states, rulers, tribes, and communities under one roof.
The unification stories of countries including China, Germany, and Italy are no different from our Nepal. So perhaps DR Regmi, a historian in modern Nepal, writes in his exploration book that the nature of Prithvi Narayan Shah's conquest is no different from that of the then emperor of Wessex in the conquest of the small British Isles.
In this regard, comparing Nepal, Germany, Italy, and China, which started the race for development and national unity together, today Nepal is facing a big gap in development, prosperity, and governance.
The forgotten rituals after Nepal goes republic
Before the people's movement of 2062/ 63 BS, during the reign of the monarchy, it was customary for people to gather and celebrate at the statue of Prithvi Narayan Shah at the west gate of Kathmandu Singha Durbar. With the beginning of the republic system in the post monarch reign, the sudden disillusionment with the monarchy washed away some very important and historic customs.
Prithivi N Shah's story is incomplete without his brave soldiers and chiefs. These soldiers were mobilized under the smart and tactical leadership of Kalu Pandey. In the Kirtipur war, Kalu Pandey, who was considered to be the right hand of Prithvi Narayan Shah, achieved heroic death.
His mausoleum is still standing at Indradaha near Thankot, Kathmandu. It is the same king Prithivi, who drew the blueprint of modern Nepal, translating the dream of Kathmandu as the capital of the entire Nepal. And gave a new dimension to the history of the Shah Dynasty in Nepal.
Prithivi N Shah died in Bikram Samvat 1831 BS, and the rulers of the Shah dynasty respectively came into power. Later after 235 years, the Shah dynasty was removed from power by the demands of the people's movement of Bikram Samvat 2063 BS, and a republican Nepal was established.
Statues of Prithvi Narayan Shah are found in many cities and squares of Nepal. Standing with his index finger raised has always been and will continue to teach unity to Nepalis.
Injustice to Prithivi N Shah
Today many attacks are being made on Prithvi Narayan Shah. He is said to be autocratic, imperialistic, suppressing and oppressing the tribal people, cutting the noses and ears of the people of Kirtipur and gathering 17 dharni noses and ears. Not only this, but even more serious and inferior blows have been inflicted on him. His statues, which have historical and archeological importance, have not only been demolished or vandalized, but he has also been promoted as a war criminal.
Now many articles and books have been written against him and most of these books are based on imagination and rumours. It is important to understand that doing so is an insult and an insult not only to Prithvi Narayan Shah, but also to the history of Nepal itself. The democracy will not be strengthened by attacking Prithvi Narayan Shah and it is also wrong to think that the attack on him is to take revenge on the monarchy. Prithvi Narayan Shah may have had some weaknesses during the unification campaign. However, those weaknesses are nothing to his great campaign. Today's generation has a lot to learn from this king who had the indomitable courage to walk the path of success with the ambition of unification at the age of 20. After two and a half hundred years, it is not a matter that should be mentioned with excitement, but it is a matter that should be evaluated as a simple weakness.
The people of Kirtipur still tell the stories of the cruelty of Prithvi Narayan Shah who ordered to cut off the noses and ears of the people of Kirtipur out of anger over the victory after many defeats during the war. War and unification have their side effects but this king was largely determined to build a better and big Nepal.
One thing is clear that if Prithvi Narayan Shah had given up or failed in the exercise of Nepal unification at that time, there would not have been an independent and sovereign Nepal today.
The history of the country is not like a ship sailing on the water, the steps are not erased here.
Prithvi Narayan's voices and visions are still watching us all in Divyapadesh and from the hill of Chandragiri.
Best wishes on Prithivi Jayanti and Rastriya Ekata Diwas.

ॐ जयन्ती मङ्गला काली भद्रकाली कपालिनी।
दुर्गा शिवा क्षमा धात्री स्वाहा स्वधा नमोऽस्तुते॥
Meaning: Salutations to the Goddess who is victorious (Jayanti), auspicious (Mangala), Kali (the fierce one), Bhadrakali (the benevolent one), and the holder of a skull (Kapalini). She is Durga (the invincible), Shiva (the auspicious), Kshama (the embodiment of forgiveness), Dhātri (the supporter), and the sacred offerings (Svaha and Svadha).
This shloka is often chanted to invoke the blessings of the Goddess for protection, success, and spiritual strength.
Baba Gorakh and Gorakhkali vagwati are very important in Nepali history. The meeting between Prithvi Narayan Shah and Baba Gorakh, the vomit that fell on the feet of Prithvi Narayan Shah and the auspiciousness given by Baba Gorakh to Prithvi Narayan Shah that there will be victory wherever he bows is the reason for the energy and strength of Nepal's unification.
The glory of Gorakhnath Baba, a unique devotee of Baba Machindranath, is special in the Sanatan community of Nepal, India and all over the world.Gorkha, the district of origin of Shah dynasty kings adjacent to the name of Baba Gorakh, and Gorakhkali temple have special importance in the former royal family of Nepal. It should be remembered that in the history of Baba Gorakh, the Gorakh palace and dynasty as well as the Gorakh temple in Pashupati's mrigasthali forest and Baba's 15-year meditation there are also connected.
The Gorkha temple of Mrigasthali is in a state of neglect due to lack of protection and management.
In the Gorkha Darbar area is the shrine of Gorakhkali Devi. This Peetha is considered as the Kool Devi of the Shah Dynasty. It is customary to worship Gorkhali on Paush Krishna Ashtami. Today, a special puja is performed at the Gorakhkali temple in Gorkha.
It has been a tradition for hundreds of years to bring Jamara to Kathmandu on Phulpati day in this Gorakhkali temple. In the post-republic years, such customs have not been given much attention, although the importance of Baba Gorakh and Gorakhkali Devi in the protection of Nepalese land has been incomparable.
Nepali people need more blessings of Baba Gorakh and Gorakhkali Devi to protect cows.
Gorakh Sandesh (Message)
Gorakh message
Guru Gorakhnath says - "The journey of the temples and shrines is Suno Yatra" meaning the pilgrimage of the temples etc. are spiritually meaningless, equal to zero, soulless – unless we are able to spread love to every being in this cosmos.
देवल जात्रा सुंनि जात्रा, तीरथ जात्रा पाणीं ।
अतीत जात्रा सुफल जात्रा, बोलै अमृत वाणी
Yes, the role of temples is very important in terms of religion and culture, but if there is a pilgrimage but there is no faith, there is no emotion and there is no devotion, then what is the use of just doing a "deval pilgrimage"? Do not worship people who worship idols! Run to temple but can't make the house a temple! Worshiping the deity of the temple but unable to awaken divinity in himself! Offering fruit, offerings, etc. to the deity made of stone in a small area and complex, but not accepting that the divinity resides in every human, animal and bird! And unable to serve! Seeing such religious pretentiousness, Guru Gorakhnath made a sharp satire in Khadi language (Prakrit language, folk language, rural language). Glory be to Baba Gorakhnath and Gorakhkali Bhagwati forever.
Infinite love of Gorakhkali Puja.
