    Bijaya Dashami

    विजया दशमी

    Special Audio

This year, the best time for Vijayadashami is 16th Asoj at 11:53 AM am according to the Nepal Panchang Nirnayak Samitee. On the day of Vijayadashami Devi Visarjan can be done at 9:23 AM in the morning. Someone longs for the Dakshina (Money received by the younger after Tika), someone longs for blessings, new clothes, shoes, and the memory of missing relatives ... maybe! Dashain is a handful of gifts of love, affection, respect, and laughter that may be needed at any time in the past, present, and future. Welcome to this special day of this year’s Dashain Tika.

    Akshyata

Now, let me first explain what is Akshyata in general, Akshyata is a mixture of red abeer, curd, and rice which is mixed, and the colorful mixture is placed on the forehead as an auspicious Dashain gift and followed by blessings. All family member gathers together, worships the deities today and later they worship the main pillar of the house, main entrance and formally starts the Tika process.

Do you know the meaning of the Dashain mantra?

Elderly people go to a person older than themselves to get Tika, normally elder one puts Tika to the younger ones. Now this year, the number of people going for Tika has simply decreased, there may be a decrease in the numbers and the availability of the foreheads, but there is certainly no barrier to blessings and remembrance.

    Buddhist aspect of Dashain Tika

This holy festival is not limited to Hinduism but is a traditional festival. It has been celebrated with joy and rejoicing even by Buddhists. The only difference is that Hindus worship the new Durga Bhagwati with a red tika, while Buddhists worship with the white Tika.

Today is Dashami Tithi i.e. the tenth day of Vijayadashami and this day which falls on this day is a word derived from Dashmi and Dussehra. Dussehra means the defeat of Dashanan Ravana (Dashanan means Dus = ten + anan = mouth). Ravana had ten heads and today is celebrated for the victory against him.

    Mahishashur

It is also mentioned that Durga Bhavani killed an monster named Mahishashur on this day. This atmosphere of Tika, Jamra, and fun is considered as the victory of the gods over the demons, the victory of truth over untruth, and the victory of humanity over the inhuman elements.

Different blessings are given to men and women while applying Tika, let me put the simple meaning of those Mantras here.

That is the goddess who has the power to conquer the whole world, who can diagnose every darkness, the goddess who is beyond the bounds of time, who wears a garland of human skulls and can diagnose all kinds of misery. O Goddess who protects this world! Accept the devotion offered by your devotee, we bow to you.

After worshiping the Goddess throughout Navaratri, on the day of Dashami, the Goddess is formally bid farewell. Accepting the offerings made on the earthly realm, the act of inviting the Goddess to return to her divine abode is called Devi Visarjan (Goddess immersion). The idol of the Goddess, which was adorned and worshipped during Navaratri, is ceremonially immersed today. It is a tradition that the immersed idol is then floated away in a water body the following day.

Apart from the clay idols, in temples where metal idols of the Goddess have been established since ancient times, the ritual of Devi Puja Visarjan is performed, and the priests offer consecrated water (Jalabhishek) and Jamara as blessings to the devotees.

    World Non Violence Day

    World Non Violence Day

    Special Audio

October 2, the World Day of Non-Violence, is also the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the world leader for non-violence in the world. His 'Salt Movement' and 'Charkha Movement' are strong examples of effective non-violent movement for change. The role of non-violence in social justice is incomparable, the world community today stands united against violence as one voice.

    World-famous art of non-violence

In front of the United Nations headquarters in New York, a work by artist Carl Frederick Ruteshward, a work of art with the barrel of a gun twisted and shot as if it had been caught and stopped by someone under a gun, is known as the world-famous art of non-violence.

Only a fearless and intrepid generation that can share food and roof can advocate non-violence. The vision of a non-violent society is possible only when we can teach our children the importance of non-violence.

Come on, are you in a developed country or an underdeveloped place, chewing corn and soybeans or eating in an expensive restaurant? Imagine what our society would be like if there were no violent actions and emotions around us.

    Ahimsa Paramo Dharam

What if the streets of Palestine, Lebanon and Afghanistan were reopened with non-violence, forgiveness, and the peace of equality? What if the world does not allow violence based on color, nationality, religion, language, love, and many other things? Martin Luther King, Jr., the American Freedom Fighter, also imagined that blacks, whites, and browns would all sit at the same table and eat, laugh, and celebrate equality.

Whether it is the Gita or the Koran, the Bible, or the Tripitaka or any other religious scripture, it is mentioned that violence does no good to anyone. Now is the time to walk on the path of smile, 'Ahimsa Paramo Dharam' i.e. non-violence is the greatest religion, don't stop smiling, and get rid of violent feelings from your mind. Don't be afraid to speak out against violence.
