Baikuntha Chaturdashi Vrata | World Diabetes Day | International Day against Illicit Trafficking in Cultural Property

    Bishnu Baikuntha Chaturdashi Vrata

    वैकुण्ठचतुर्दश्यां यः पूजयेद् हरिशङ्करौ।
    स याति परमं स्थानं मुक्तिं लभते नरोत्तमः॥

Meaning: "One who worships both Hari (Vishnu) and Shankara (Shiva) on Baikuntha Chaturdashi attains the supreme abode and achieves liberation."

According to the scriptures, a person who worships Lord Vishnu with thousands of lotus flowers and worships Lord Shiva gets liberation from all his bonds and attains Vaikuntha Lok. It is customary to observe this fast on Kartik Shukla Chaturdashi.

    Fast story of Vaikuntha Chaturdashi
Once Narada approached Lord Vishnu at Vaikuntha. Vishnuji asked Naradji why he had come. Narada said, “Lord, you are called Kripa Nidhana on earth. But only your dear devotees get grace. So please tell me some way by which ordinary men and women can also become recipients of your mercy.

God said that - "Men and women who worship me with devotion on the day of Narada Kartik Shukla Chaturdashi will attain heaven.

After this, Vishnu ordered the opening of the gates of heaven on Kartik Shukla Chaturdashi by invoking Jai Vijaya. God said that those who worship my name even a little bit on this day will live in Vaikuntha.

    Best wishes on this day.

    World Diabetes day

November 14 is celebrated every year to commemorate the birthday of scientist Frederick Banting, who played a key role in the development of insulin used to treat diabetes. Frederick, born in 1881 and died in 1941, is a Canadian citizen who has made significant contributions to the production of the hormone insulin during his entire lifetime. Various public awareness programs are being held on the occasion of this day, which has been celebrated since 1991 at the call of the World Health Organization.

The theme for world Diabetic day, 2024
The theme for World Diabetes Day (WDD) 2024–2026 is "Diabetes and well-being". The campaign will focus on three areas:

    Physical well-being
The importance of a healthy diet and physical activity to manage diabetes and reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes

    Societal well-being
Highlighting the barriers that prevent people with diabetes from living a healthy and fulfilling life

    Mental well-being
Raising awareness of the stress, anxiety, and challenges that come with living with a chronic condition like diabetes

Here are some ways you can support the campaign:

    Wear blue
The official color of diabetes awareness is blue. You can show your support by wearing blue clothing or accessories.

    Share information
Educate others about diabetes, its risk factors, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

    Get tested
If you are at risk for diabetes, consider getting tested for early detection and intervention.

At present, more than 420 million people worldwide are at risk of diabetes, while in Nepal alone, it is estimated that at least one million people are affected by diabetes. Although lifestyle diabetes is not a contagious disease, it is considered a family disease. If only one member of the family has diabetes, it can affect the whole family. It affects the lifestyle, diet, relationships, financial and mental aspects of the entire family.

Doctors suggest that you can avoid diabetes by paying attention to your daily diet, exercising regularly, and adopting a stress-free lifestyle. A diet that is more likely to be high in carbohydrates, fatty, and sugary foods must be avoided.

Precisely, the right diet, lifestyle, positive thinking, regular physical exercise can control diabetes in time. People with diabetes should not smoke or drink alcohol. If one's family has diabetes in the previous generation, then the next generation must also be aware of diabetes. If we are aware of the time, we can push diabetes away from our lives. Nowadays, most of the market foods and packaged foods are on the rise, such junk foods are considered to be very bad. It is recommended to eat grains instead of highly processed carbohydrates.

The generation within the screen needs to come into nature, football needs to be played on the field, not remotely, stress management measures need to be taken and diabetes needs to be eradicated from life. Health is wealth.

International Day against Illicit Trafficking in Cultural Property

The International Day against Illicit Trafficking in Cultural Property, observed on November 14 each year, raises global awareness about the severe impact of illegal trade on cultural heritage. For a country like Nepal, rich in ancient artifacts, religious statues, and historic relics, this day holds particular significance. Nepal's cultural heritage, symbolized by intricate woodwork, stone sculptures, and centuries-old religious icons, not only represents its history but also its spiritual identity. However, these priceless assets are often targets of theft and smuggling, ending up in international markets as part of the illicit art trade. The 2024 observance emphasizes strengthening Nepal’s commitment to safeguarding its cultural heritage, encouraging both stronger legal frameworks and international cooperation to prevent further losses. Through these efforts, Nepal can protect its unique heritage for future generations and honor the legacy of its ancestors.
