चैत शुक्ल पूर्णिमा
Hanuman Jayanti | Baisakh Snan Praarambha | Poornima Vrata | Balaju Bais Dhara Mela | International Day of Human Space Flight
Remembering the living Lord Hanuman, Hamuman Jayanti
Hanuman is a mysterious character, mysterious and mischievous in several aspects. A favorite character of children with numerous activities cited in Ramayana, Hanuman often comes in mind when we think of devotion, power, innocence, and war. Hanuman Chalisa "Widely recited religious book" is a default book, widely referred and carried out by the majority of Hindu Sanatana followers worldwide.
He crossed mountains, flew towards the sky to eat the sun, thinking it to be a mango, opened his own chest to prove mother Sita of his loyalty, he defeated "Rahu" a malefic planet which stopped Hanuman on his pursuit of consuming sun, Hanuman manifests courage and protection. Hanuman is mentioned in Mahabharata, Puranas and also in some Jain texts. Hanuman Jayanti is commemorated to celebrate the birthday of Hanuman ji, the monkey god.
Different aspects and contributions of Hamuna are remembered and worshiped on Hanuman Jayanti. I begin with an ancient saying derived from Ramcharitramanas of Tulsidas, where he crafts stating that "If you want lord Rama to dismiss all your guilt and sorrows, you can only reach to Lord Rama through Hanuman." Today is the perfect day for this, Chaitra is an important month when a lot of spiritual and religious discourses happen around the majority of Hindu Sanatana temples. Hanuman's unyielding devotion to Lord Rama and his selfless devotion to god power have always been an example to this mankind. Hanuman is one among the biggest embodiment of Karma Yogi (Yogi whose meditation and devotion are reflected from hard work, service, and sacrifice.) Hanuman is a living god, his existence is beyond the cycle of life and death.
Hanuman said "I am a humble messenger of Sri Rama. I have come here to serve Rama, to do His work. By the command of Lord Rama, I have come here. I am fearless by the Grace of Lord Rama. I am not afraid of death. I welcome it if it comes while serving Lord Rama."
In return for his unconditional love, Lord Rama granted him everlasting life. He promised that he would be worshipped alongside Rama and that his idol would be placed next to his.
Hanuman has the ability to swim seven oceans in a single blow, seize clouds, move mountains, break clouds and fly as swiftly as bird Garuda, set fire to the tail and burn down entire Lanka. He even sent back Yamaraj (God of Death) when Yamaraj arrived to mark Rama's death however, ascetics have cursed Hanuman for forgetting his own power.
When asked to bid farewell to Rama after the war with Ravana, Hanuman desired to stay in this planet. Lord Rama had given the gift of Hanuman's wish to remain in the earth till Ram's name goes on in the world.
Hanuman Jayanti can be celebrated and commemorated in a congregation or also individually, wishes of a meaningful Hanuman Jayanti. May this Chatra Shukla poornima delivers you the gravity of Hauman's power manifestation, may we all get rid of our troubles and worries and gain strength to overcome every difficulty with ease.
Baisakh Snan starts
न माधवसमो मासों न कृतेन युगं समम्।
न च वेदसमं शास्त्रं न तीर्थं गंगया समम्।।
स्कंदपुराण, वै वै मा. 2/1
That is, there is no month like Vaishakh, no age like Satya Yuga, no scripture like Veda, and no pilgrimage like Gangaji. Baisakhi bath has started from Chaitra Purnima. Welcome and good luck to all who go on pilgrimage, go to the pool, take a holy bath and remember God.
Poornima Vrata
The last day of Shukla Paksha is the full moon day. On this tithi, the moon is the brightest and magnificent. It is believed that fasting on this day brings immense lunar grace to health, prosperity, and peace. On the full moon day, Lord Shiva and Vishnu are especially worshiped. Special worship to Lord Vishnu is done in the form of Satya Narayan Puja. Satya Narayan Puja is usually performed whenever possible, although the fruits of this puja performed on the day of the full moon are very abundant.
From a scientific point of view, it is said that gravity will have a great effect on the earth on the day of the full moon and self-purification will be done by fasting on this day and remembering the name of God. By fasting on this day, the metabolic process will be strengthened, gastric problems will be solved and positive energy will increase in the body.
This day is fast from sunrise in the morning to moonrise in the evening. Some people observe this fast without drinking water, while others observe this fast by eating only one meal and eating no salt (alino) food. In the evening, after the moonrise, the fast ends with the sighting of the moon.
Let there be an end to the flood and landslide, let there be the protection of both religion and the followers of religion.
Balaju Baes Dhara Mela
To the northwest of the Kathmandu Valley lies sacred Nagarjuna forest and underneath this forest is this place, Baes Dhara. This historic place with 22 water tabs has been termed as a park to this day. This place is called Lhuti by the Newar community. A kind of fruit called Lhuti is found in the forest of Nagarjuna and the water is said to be of medicinal importance as the juice of the fruit is mixed with the water flowing there. For this reason, it is believed that bathing in the water of Baisadhara cures skin diseases.
Embracing this unique benefit of Lhuti fruit, the smiles of thousands of generations who get refreshed by bathing in Baisadhara are connected with Baisdhara anecdotes.
Baisadhara Mela has its own religious and social significance. A fair is held here every year on the day of Chaitra Shukla Poornima. It is mentioned that this day is celebrated by the Newar community as Lhutipunhi. It is believed that since Mannadi Devi was born on this day if a woman bathes in these 22 water tabs, she will prosper.
According to legend, when Vipassana Buddha planted a lotus flower and chanted mantras, Swayambhu Jyotirup originated here. It is commemorated in Lhutipunhi today.
King Jayaprakash Malla, who introduced the world's smallest currency, built temples at Balaju Dhungedhara and Gokaneshwar during his lifetime. At that time, he had built 21 water tabs in Balaju. Later in 1855 BS, King Ran Bahadur Shah established one stone fountain water tab. Thus, this place, which had 21 water streams of Malla king and one stream of Shah dynasty, was called Baisdhara which means a place with 22 water tabs. Construction of the modern layout of the park began in 2018 BS during the reign of King Mahendra. This park has been made public for all since 2021 BS. This park is also called Mahendra Park as it was built during the reign of King Mahendra.
A grand fair is held here on Chaitra Purnima, although last year and this year too, the fair will be affected due to the Corona tragedy. May Baisadhara take away all the ailments and afflictions, may the source here never dry up. Good luck.
International Day of Human Space Flight
That was some 61 years ago. In 1961, astronaut Yuri Gagarin made a 108-minute orbit around the Earth's orbit in a spacecraft called Vostok 1. On April 7, 2011, the 65th session of the United Nations General Assembly decided to observe April 12 of each year as the International Day of Human Space Flight.
Russia celebrates this day as Cosmetology Day, and in some states and places in the former Soviet Union, it is celebrated as Yuri Gagarin's Day.
In the context of 2025:
No specific slogan has been designated for this year. However, it is expected that the focus will revolve around the context of astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who spent more than nine months in space before returning to Earth. They returned on March 18, 2025.
Today, one of the milestones of human space dreams has been uncovered. In the case of Nepal, this year's Human Space Flight Day has a new significance. Nepali students have successfully tested the launch of a Nepali rocket called Garuda. Along with the launch and development achievements of this rocket, a group of Nepali scientists will also participate in the SpaceSport America Cup in the United States.
The sky is one of the five elements of Panchatatwa that remains to be explored. Sky and space have aroused a lot of curiosity and questions in the human brain. The desire to touch the moon, the curiosity of the sky and the clouds, and the motions of the movement of the constellations, are always being sought by human beings.
In the same way, space is a mystery and a part to be explored. With the help of science and technology, human beings today have been able to acquire knowledge of Mars, the moon, and other astronomical things and reach there. Much more remains to be done. Today, it discusses the achievements of human space exploration as well as the challenges.
Best wishes on this day.
