In your opinion, should the Sithi Chaahre festival be included in school and college curricula?

Sithi Chahre of Nepal Sambat 1145.

Nepal has been a country rich in festivals and dates since ancient times. Nepal is known as one of therichest countries in the world in terms of pilgrimage, culture, and festivals. Especially the Newacommunity living around Kathmandu has been famous for its culture and traditions since ancient timesand among these rituals and civilizations, we present today with an important culture, Sithi Chahre.

    Chaharey means Chaturdashi

Sithi Chahre, i.e. Chaturdashi, falls on the Jeshtha Chartudashi. On this day, the Newa communityworships Sithi Chahre. According to the Nepal Samvat, today;s date falls on the Chaturdashi of the month of Bachalathva in the year 1145. Chaturdashi is called Chahre in the Newa language and today is Sithi Chahre. Today it is customary to worship from house to house, on this day Sithi i.e. Kumar Kartike, the son of Shiva is worshiped. Not only Kumara but also other deities are worshiped and adored. SithiNakha is commencing, the excitement of new year, processions, dedication, and the series of festivalsfrom Baisakh month is on its peak. Best wishes for the Sithi Chahre of the Nepal sambat 1145. Best wishes!

Hamro Patro - Connecting Nepali Communities
Hamro Patro is one of the first Nepali app to include Nepali Patro, launched in 2010. We started with a Nepali Calendar mobile app to help Nepalese living abroad stay in touch with Nepalese festivals and important dates in Nepali calendar year. Later on, to cater to the people who couldn’t type in Nepali using fonts like Preeti, Ganesh and even Nepali Unicode, we built nepali mobile keyboard called Hamro Nepali keyboard.
