Ghatasthapana, Navaratri commences | Tula Sakranti | International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

This is the oldest default vernacular on Dashain, super popular among children of all generations. This is a conversation between the fingers, one says Dashain has finally arrived, next says now we shall eat, drink and be merry, next one says, from where shall you bring money for the celebration, next one promptly replies that probably he will steal money from somewhere and the final or the thumb says you, damn sinner, let me be a bit far from you and this is why thumb is a bit far from the rest fingers.
    |
Whatever the anecdote is, Dashain has finally arrived at every doorstep. This year's Dashain can be very different and tragic in terms of blessing and gathering, Corona's infection risk and the deep pit of the economy may result in less proportionate Dashain to everyone's door this year, but, certainly, the joy and mood of Dashain will not diminish. Let's redefine the Dashain where we are, shall we?

Ghatasthapana is the auspicious day when we plant "Jamara" at our house, a sacred place is prepared inside the house where soils are kept and seeds of barley, maize, paddy, and other crops are sowed. For the next nine days that place is worshiped and finally on the tenth day, the germinations from those seeds are used in worship and given to Youngers by elders as a sign of blessings and love.

Although jamara is the germination of barley, the jamara of Dashain includes barley, paddy, and maize. This culture associated with soil, water, air, flowers, and sprouts makes it clear that we are very close to plants and nature.

Navratri started from today, now every morning there is a crowd of devotees in all the new Durga Bhagwati Shakti Peeths of the country. But this year it's different, there shall be no crowds and gatherings, everything happens inside the house.

The practice of germinating Dashain Jamara varies from place to place. In some places, Jamara is deposited in a Guthi or Shaktipith and a temple by setting up a Dashainghar collectively or individually in the worship room of one's own house or some other clean place of the house.

By keeping this barley germination on the head, every Nepali shall get the power of Durga Bhawani with harmony, virtue, and prosperity. In the same way, nature may have given us information about our roots, that is, our culture, traditions, and human bases. No matter how big, tall, and thick the plants are, even if their branches try to touch the sky, their roots are in the soil. That is to say, no matter how much we change or progress and touch the sky, it shows the importance of not forgetting the foundation of our precious material culture and tradition.
    Happy Wishes

    Tula Sakranti
The first day of the month is called Sankranti and the end of the month is called Masanta. Today Libra Sankranti i.e. Sun is entering Libra from Virgo. There are 12 solstices in a year and on the day of solstice the Sun enters from one zodiac sign to another. Today's solstice is also important because the time of day and night are the same on this day.

This Sankranti is described as a very important Sankranti in the Matsya Purana. It is also customary to fast Tula Sankranti by eating only one meal a day in advance.

According to the Vedic Sanatan Hindu calendar, the seventh month i.e. Kartik started from today. Due to this special effect, the grain is ready to be harvested in the field so that it can be stored in a well-drained manner and stored in a good manner without any natural calamity.

Gradually, the cold dew has started falling from the sky, you may be experiencing a cold breeze and the days are getting shorter and the evenings are getting faster. Paddy farmers have started flocking to the farm. The month of Mangsir is approaching as it is the next month after this.

Let the farmers rejoice when the crops get ripen this time. As the time has come for the rice plants planted in Ashadh Shravan to pay the price of sweat, may the energy of hope and smile be communicated to everyone, good luck!

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

Today, the world community is celebrating Poverty Alleviation Day with great pomp. It is customary to celebrate this day on October 17 of each year.

Countries that can spend billions of dollars on nuclear power have not even been able to address the hunger problems of their citizens. Even in this first half of the 21st century, poverty in the world has become a barrier to even the basic guarantee of food and shelter is yet a big question mark to many. This year, however, the country and nationality are linked not only to nuclear or fighter jets, but also to the number of health workers wearing white coats, hospital beds and ventilators, and the availability of ICUs. The crisis caused by the Corona Risk has made it clear that poverty will increase and employment opportunities will decrease in the coming years, in the underlying context, the importance of this year's Poverty Alleviation Day has become wider.

The priority of every government and parliament is to eradicate poverty. This eradication of poverty is crucial for peace, stability, and economic development. According to the World Bank, the poverty rate in Nepal has decreased from 25.2 percent in 2011 to 21.6 percent by 2015. Increased income through remittances from foreign employment cannot be considered long-term, market and financial management is necessary by highlighting employment and skills in the country.

On the other hand, it is necessary to bring a revolution in agricultural work and make it commercial rather than subsistence farming. Remembering that those ten years of conflict and subsequent turmoil have led to an increase in poverty in Nepal and a lack of livelihood opportunities for the people.

On the other hand, as part of the government's efforts, various income generation programs are being carried out through the Poverty Alleviation Fund in 59 districts of Nepal through 30,000 community organizations. The hidden pit of the rich and the poor is a silent battle around the world, in this economy, everyone has the freedom to move forward based on knowledge and opportunity, right? As this gap between the rich and the poor continues to be filled, it is important to pay attention to the society and the vulnerable communities of the society.

Democracy without economic development and poverty is lame. Let us all see Nepal and the world eradicated from poverty in this life.

Let there be a roof over everyone's house, Let there be rice grains in every palate, be it millet or flour
May life be sweet to all.
