Meaning: "Just as a wheel is constantly turning, so too is knowledge continuously evolving. In the minds of students, there must always be change, as new knowledge constantly illuminates."

This shloka encourages students to embrace change, reminding them that learning is a dynamic, ongoing process that requires openness to new ideas and adaptability.

    Background:

The date of 17th November was chosen to be the International Students' Day due to the events that unfolded in Prague during World War II. Nine students were executed without trial in concentration camps on the 17th November 1939. Nowadays, November 17 marks a celebration of multiculturalism of international students. Understanding the history of world politics, "Students are the carriers of change" Students have become examples of great political, social and economic change. Every year on the 17th of November, World Student Day is celebrated around the world in a deeply non-political and multicultural way.

Today is the day of the Nazi soldier's assassination and arrest of students at various universities in the Czech Republic in 1939, and the student's martyrdom, remembering the incident and the entire global community commemorates this day.

In Nepal too, the participation of students in various stages of movement and transformational steps is very important, The great politicians of the country have learned the virtues of politics by participating in the student movement since their student days. There are both good and bad sides to student politics. It is important to be independent, impartial and neutral in acquiring education.

    Meaningful wishes of this day

In Nepal, meanwhile, winter has begun soon. By the end of the festivals, cold breezes had started the winter, hadn't it?

No matter how, now the Mangsir month has started, warm welcome to all in the Mangsir of 2082 BS.

This month is full of weddings, vows and other auspicious occasions. Clothing stores or gold shops are crowded. Wedding carriages and the joyous participation of the people on the streets, the sound of bands and panche baja with songs are seen often. From today the Sun enters Brischik from Tula, hence today is also called Brischik Sakranti. In the Hindu calendar, there are 12 Sankrantis of 12 months in total and today is the eighth Sankranti of this year.

Stay warm, stay happy and enjoy the day.

    Exclusive audio

    ॐ तत्पुरुषाय विद्महे महादेवाय धीमहि तन्नो रुद्रः प्रचोदयात्!

    शिव गायत्री मंत्र

Meaning: Salutations to the Mahadeb, lord of the gods, please give me wisdom and enlighten my heart.

    Pradosh Vrata

Triodashi is called Pradosh. Like Ekadashi, Pradosh is important every month, Vishnu is remembered in Ekadashi, and Shiva is remembered in Pradosh. Pradosh begins 45 minutes before sunset and ends 45 minutes after sunset.

Which part do you find most inspiring while listening/reading the story of Som Pradosh?

    Som Pradosh

Today is Som Pradosh Vrata as it is Pradosh Vrata on Monday. Monday is considered to be Shiva's beloved day, so it is believed that those who fast today and praises Lord Shiva, will attain immense purity and boons.

    Pradosha Katha

It is mentioned in the scriptures that Lord Shiva cured the disease of the moon on the day of Triodashi when the effect of the moon was diminishing.

Due to this, Pradosh Vrat is observed in the Triodashi every month in remembrance of Lord Shiva. It is more fruitful to worship Shiva in the time of Pradosh.
