Coming out of feelings and circle (Process) is Yoga.

The Yoga Sutras are credited to Adiyogi Lord Shiva. The yoga practices that started from Shiva have come to us through generations of Saptarishis, scholars, sages, and Gurus. According to architectural studies, the idol of Lord Shiva in the meditation posture is considered to be the oldest. There is also an idol of Mahavira Jain, meditating. Another basis of yoga is the meditation idol of Lord Buddha, this idol is considered world famous. According to another statement, credit for yoga is given to Lord Krishna. Among the many names of Lord Krishna, Yogeshwar is also worshiped. Even UNESCO has registered yoga as its intangible cultural heritage since 2016.

World Yoga Day is celebrated on the 21st of June every year. Sadguru Jaggi Basdev, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi is among the inaugural personalities of this Yoga Day which was started to be celebrated in 2014. This formula of Yoga Day has been established by the United Nations itself and yoga have been taken as the index of millennium development. The world community understands that development and prosperity are not possible without personal peace and health.

What does yoga mean to you?

The World International Yoga Day 2025 theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” highlights the deep connection between our individual well‑being and the health of our planet. Yoga isn’t just a practice for physical fitness or mental calm; it’s a holistic lifestyle that fosters harmony between humans, nature, and all living systems

    Yoga Studies in Nepal

The formal study of yoga and naturopathy is being taught in Nepal at Valmiki Vidyapeeth of Nepal Sanskrit University. The entrants are given 6 months of yoga and naturopathy training. Those who have graduated in any subject have also been approved for a two-year postgraduate course. Although the Curriculum Development Center has been teaching yoga, naturopathy, and Ayurveda as subjects of interest in classes 9 and 10 since 2051 BS, it has not been able to start due to a lack of graduates in this field. Today, we want to appeal to the youth to move forward by making yoga study a goal of life.

From billionaires to saints, we all need to answer with our hands on our chests; is there peace in our lives? Are we happy? Human nature is beyond self-control, it is a creature indulging in greed, lust, and indulgence for material gain, human beings are the only creatures in the world who spend their whole life on their grid of needs and security, and it does not apply to other creatures.

Nepal is considered to be the birthplace of yoga. As yoga practice and Ayurveda is a reliable and ancient treatment method, it is requested to bring them into regular practice for staying healthy.

By practicing yoga and understanding the importance of yoga, we are sure to be successful and healthy even in daily life and health. Yoga is essential for an egalitarian world, yoga is life, and let's study more about it, adopt it, and achieve a happy and peaceful life.

    Exclusive audio

    When is Yogini Ekadashi ?

Yogini Ekadashi falls in the Krishna paksha of Asaramas or the month of Asar.

What is done in Yogini Ekadashi ?

Today, an idol of Lord Narayan is installed by fasting, and is revered. Offering vog means offering food, fruits, Naivedh, etc. It is the broad spectrum of living; Sanatan people consider the idol as a living god and treats it with grain, devotion, and other offerings. People donate to needy people under the grace of that idol, they lighten the incense sticks and also perform Aaratis.

Worshiping Peepal tree on this Ekadashi destroys all sins and attains paradise after death. Peepal is the fairest plant, with its root reaching far, people won't prefer to plant it nearby houses, everyone worships the giant Peepal tree; however, no one fights for its fruit as Peepal fruit is not edible for human. Peepal's wood is not for household purpose, so Peepal brings lesser community greed and quarrel and more communal worship and gatherings underneath.

From the day of Dashmi, any tamasic food, including barley, wheat, or mung bean, is avoided. Apart from that, salt consumption refrained from fasting and one day in advance. Salt consumption accelerates the wandering characteristics of our mind, avoiding salt consumption means stabilizing the mind and bringing peace within.

    Vrata Katha of Yogini Ekadashi

In the kingdom of Alkapuri, Shivaji's supreme devotee Kuber Raja's kingdom, he used flowers in worship. Thus, a gardener named Hemmali used to bring flowers for the worship of the king. One day, Hemamali forgets to bring the daily worship flowers as he was having fun with his wife in Mansarovar.

Angered by the delay in worshiping his beloved Lord Shiva for not bringing flowers on time, King Kuber angrily curses Hemmali for the deprivation of a woman and for being sick. Due to his devotion to Shiva, Hemmali did not lose his conscience. His pursuit is to liberate from the curse and gets advice from a Rishi/ sage.

The same sage tells Hemmali about the vow of Yogini Ekadashi, and Hemmali returns to her old life under the influence of this Ekadashi vow. This Ekadashi gives healthy life to Hemmali; we all need a normal life after this lockdown, don't we?

Let's do well, think well, speak well, and reserve good feelings in our hearts. Best wishes.
