    Safer Internet Day

    Safer Internet Day

    Exclusive audio

Today's world is in dire need of a secure Internet as the world community buys and sells goods and services full-time on the Internet, studies are taught through the Internet, and tea shop gossip is spread to Facebook groups and zooms.

Safer Internet Day is celebrated every year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and youth and to promote national dialogue in this regard.

Safe Internet Day is celebrated in more than 170 countries around the world, jointly organized by Insafe / Inhope in collaboration with the European Commission and national secure internet centers across Europe.

In your experience, what could be the most effective way to make the internet safer?

In today’s digital age, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an important part of our daily lives. This year’s theme, “Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI,” encourages us to stay aware as technology continues to grow. While AI offers many opportunities, it is important not to compromise our privacy and security. Using AI responsibly helps protect us from digital risks.

    Safer Internet in Nepal

Since 2019, ChildSafeNet has been responsible for organizing and promoting Safe Internet Day in Nepal.

ChildSafeNet is a specialized organization dedicated to promoting secure internet for children and youth in Nepal. Since 2019, ChildSafeNet has coordinated and organized various programs for the Safer Internet Day celebration in Nepal.

This year, Safer internet day hopes to answer the following questions:

    • What issues really matter to children and young people?
    • What changes do they want to see?
    • How can we all work together to advocate for them moving forward?

With your help, Safer Internet Day 2026 can be a springboard for conversations that shape how we talk about and respond to online issues, not just for one day, but throughout the whole year.

Hamro Patro - Connecting Nepali Communities
Hamro Patro is one of the first Nepali app to include Nepali Patro, launched in 2010. We started with a Nepali Calendar mobile app to help Nepalese living abroad stay in touch with Nepalese festivals and important dates in Nepali calendar year. Later on, to cater to the people who couldn’t type in Nepali using fonts like Preeti, Ganesh and even Nepali Unicode, we built nepali mobile keyboard called Hamro Nepali keyboard.
