    Matatirtha Aaunsi (Mother's Day)

    Matatirtha Aaunsi
Just as it is believed that if the grains are dried in the scorching sun on the day of Aunsi, there will be no insects in the grain. Similarly, in today's Aunsi, if a mother's remembrance and respect for her mother is expressed, there will be no rift in the relationship between mother and child.

What is Aunsi and what is the significance of Aunsi or Amavasya in Vedas?
In the Atharva Veda, three hymns (suktas) are narrated based on the position of the moon. The first is Amavasya or Aunsi Sukta which is recited during Aunsi, then Purnima Sukta and the other is Surya Chandra Sukta which is recited after the first shape of the moon in the days after Aunsi is seen in the sky. In this situation where the relationship between the moon and the science of Sanatan Sanskar is disappearing, we must understand the 3 positions of the moon and the science related to it.

In the Atharva Veda, Amavasya Sukta says that Amavasya is a part of coexistence (Samvasati) and it also gives place to the union of the earth and the moon. The Taittiriya Samhita states that Amavasya is entering into Milan (Sangani). Such a combination is also called the English astronomical word SYZYGY which means union or adjustment.

The new moon is the union of the sun and the moon from the earth's view. The new moon is clearly understood to be the stage before SYZYGY. This day is also called the waning moon because the condition of the moon is very low.

    Mata Tirtha Aunsi
Now let's talk about the glory of Mata Tirtha Aunsi, one of the best Aunsis of all the Aunsis of the year. It falls in the month of Baisakh and is considered a bridge that can connect the world of Deva, Pitru Lok, and Prithvi Lok under one philosophy. On this date, it is considered very important to remember, meet and express affection to one's mother and to give alms and organize charity in the name of late mothers.

That is, mothers are gods. The mothers in this world are living gods, the mothers who do not exist in this world are now immortal.

Mata Tirtha Aunsi is a festival celebrated since ancient times to pay homage to the mothers. Today the great and hard work of a mother is remembered. Today is the day to respect and remember mother. This is the mother who showed us the world. She gave birth and preserved us in the womb. Then she held him in her arms. Like the Kalpa tree that fulfills all our desires, aspirations, and desires in our childhood and beyond, all the mothers of this world are also KalpaBrikshs.
