    World Meditation day

    "ध्यानेनात्मनि पश्यन्ति केचित् आत्मानमात्मना।
     अन्ये साङ्ख्येन योगेन कर्मयोगेन चापरे।"

     (Bhagwat Geeta: 13.25)

    Meaning:
Through meditation, some individuals experience and realize their true self. Others attain self-realization through the path of knowledge, the path of yoga, or the path of action.

This verse highlights the significance of meditation and the journey toward inner peace. Meditation is a powerful medium for self-reflection and inner awareness.

    Background of Meditation Day

On December 21, 2024, the first-ever World Meditation Day will be celebrated globally. This decision to observe December 21 as World Meditation Day was made by the United Nations General Assembly on December 7, 2024.
On this occasion, Indian spiritual leader Ravi Shankar will lead the Meditation Day event at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on December 20. During this event, Ravi Shankar will present meditation as a fundamental pillar for stress management and conflict resolution.

The program will be attended by international dignitaries, UN leaders, diplomats, and global representatives.

Significance: World Meditation Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of meditation for mental health and inner peace. This day especially encourages stress management, self-reflection, and adopting a positive lifestyle through meditation programs, seminars, and workshops.

    How to Celebrate?

-Meditation Practice: Participate in group meditation sessions.
-Workshops: Join local programs focused on meditation and mental peace.
-Share: Write about your meditation experiences and its impact on social media.
-Educate: Spread awareness about the benefits of meditation to people of all ages, from children to the elderly.
Meditate, stay calm, and contribute to creating a positive society.

Hamro Patro - Connecting Nepali Communities
Hamro Patro is one of the first Nepali app to include Nepali Patro, launched in 2010. We started with a Nepali Calendar mobile app to help Nepalese living abroad stay in touch with Nepalese festivals and important dates in Nepali calendar year. Later on, to cater to the people who couldn’t type in Nepali using fonts like Preeti, Ganesh and even Nepali Unicode, we built nepali mobile keyboard called Hamro Nepali keyboard.
