भदौ शुक्ल एकादशी
Haripariwartani Ekadashi | Bishwakarma Pooja | National Science Day
Haripariwartani Ekadashi/Bishwakarma Pooja/Kanya Sakranti/ Rastriya Chalachitra diwas / Wastu diwas/ rastriya bigyan diwas
Haripariwartini Ekadashi Wrata and Waaman Dwadashi Wrata
The Haripatarivartini Ekadashi and Kanya Sankranti of the year 2078 BS and the Vishwakarma Puja on every Kanya Sankranti have fallen on the same day.
There is a classical belief that there is no other way to destroy sins than this Ekadashi brat. It is believed that fasting on Haripariwartini Ekadashi will bring the results equivalent of performing supreme Vajpayee Yajna. Haripariwartini Ekadashi is also called Jayanti Ekadashi and Waaman Ekadashi.
According to mythology, the name of Shuklapaksha Ekadashi in August is Haripariwartini Ekadashi. This Ekadashi is called Haripariwartini Ekadashi as it is the day when Lord Vishnu, who is sleeping from Ashadh Shukla Harishyani Ekadashi, changes his position. Pariwartini means changing the position. Lord Vishnu, the lord of all three worlds, is described as sleeping on the back of the serpent king, Seshnaag's back. After the pooja of this Ekadashi, copper, silver, rice, and curd are offered.
In the Tretayuga, Bali, the son of a demon named Virochana, was the ultimate devotee of Lord Vishnu. But he had defeated Indralok and all the deities because of his prejudice against Indra.
When the Indradi deity, including Jupiter, approached Vishnu and started chanting the Vedic mantra, Vishnu assumed the form of a dwarf in his fifth incarnation to free the deities from Bali, the Asura power. First Waamana was not a Lord, but a human Avatar of God Vishnu who came to earth as a poor, short (in height often cited dwarf-like) scholar (Brahmin). Secondly, Waamana did not kill king Bali (or Maha Bali as he is more popularly known). He pushed him to Paathaala (more specifically Suthala which is ranked above Paathala in living indices of the underworld) where he is supposed to belong to.
Who are Asuras and Debas ?
Both Devas and Asuras are superhuman entities. Not all Devas are completely good and not all Asuras are evil. Devas are assigned the territory of Swarga and Asuras are assigned the territory of Paathaala. (Humans are assigned the territory of Earth.)
After Vishnubhakta Bali begged to stay with Vishnu in the Paathaala as well, on the day of Bhadrapad Shukla Ekadashi, the recognition of Hari Pariwartini Ekadashi has been established according to the legend of Vishnu institutionalizing its presence in the ashram of Bali.
As the tithi of Ekadashi and Dwadashi (11th and 12th day) collides on the same day, today is also the tithi for Waaman Dwadashi Vrata. People observe fast and depict their utmost devotion in this Dwadashi.
Kanya Sakranti
Coolness is beginning to be felt under the huge blue sky with the decreasing heat. The rain-soaked soils are now slowly drying up and the paddy fields are starting to crack because of the dryness. Bhadaure Dhan and ghaiya may have been harvested and in the process of being beaten rice for the upcoming Dashain. There are 12 months and 12 solstices in a year. These 12 solstices are classified into 4 categories, Ion, Vishnubha, Vishnupadi, and Sadasitamukhi Sankranti. All Sankrantis are very important for charitable activities. According to the Hindu solar calendar, the first day of the sixth month is Kanya Sankranti. Welcome to the Kanya Sakranti of this year, Sun today moves to Kanya Rashi from Simha Rashi.
Kanya Sakranti is usually an alarm of upcoming Dashain and convoy of festive excitements however, this year still holds different question marks because of COVID prevalence, hope this planet overcomes this phenomenon and wins over this virus sooner.
Wastu diwas
Vastu Day is also being celebrated today. The architectural significance of Wastu is given high importance in the construction of houses, temples, chaitya chautari, and townships. It is an ancient science and sub-Veda. There is an Eastern belief that physical infrastructure should be built based on Vishwakarma and the integrals of Wastu architecture. It is mentioned in the Wastu Bidhya that if the architecture is constructed by determining the location and direction of natural greatness, Panchamahabhuta sky, air, fire, earth, and water, then prosperity, health, and all welfare will be achieved from it. Today, more people are interested in architecture than in the past. It has become relevant to make the house building strong and beautiful and to get material comforts. At the same time, the day has been spreading public awareness to create a disaster-resistant house and make it a lifelong home Rashtriya Chalachitra Diwas: National Cinema Day of Nepal.
This year's National Film day is gradually overcoming the past year's adversities, the main destination of the cinema is cinema halls are trying to open, do not know when it will open? Not only that, in Corona Tragedy, many movies have not been released on time, entire movie manpower is on a halt and the confusion of the coming years is the same, what happens next is unanswered. This year, the world of movies needs patience and anticipation and a little hope and energy. Soon everything will be normal, the camera lens will be open, the lights will reopen, and action and cut will be heard. We are in a hurry to go to the cinema hall again, we need movies that will make us laugh, and cry and show the picture of society correctly, don't we?
Vishwakarma Pooja
Vishwakarma Pooja is celebrated on the 1st of Asoj, i.e. in the form of worship of Baba Vishwakarma, a scholar of construction and technology production and study. Today, the followers of the Vedic Sanatan Hindu religion worship in honor of Baba Vishwakarma in this Vishwakarma Pooja.
Baba is a craft expert for the gods and is the builder of the buildings of each deity, the craftsman of weapons, and the creator and maker of vehicles. According to the scriptures, Vishwakarma was the son of Brahma, who had five sons and an only daughter. His only daughter Sandhya was married to Lord Surya, the owner of global energy and natural resources of heat. Baba is the inspiration for handicrafts, craftsmen, artisans, and thousands of material creations. Even in today's modern age, most of the garages, factories, manufacturing technology sites and various workplaces active in various metal works in Nepal are decorated and commemorated in honor of the technology and many construction practices and innovations he introduced since the Vedic period. In Vishwakarma Baba's worship, it is customary to set up an idol of Baba and worship it on that day and to ritually integrate that idol in rivers, lakes, and ponds the next day. As vehicles are worshiped today, so public transport may not be readily available today, anyway the post COVID situation in Nepal makes public transport unavailable and hardly available these days, anyway. May every instrument and mechanical achievement of human life always protect us. May the Pitris be saved by the recent sorha shraddha deeds, and may peace prevail, best wishes to all on this day.
Similarly, every year September 1 is also celebrated as National Film Day. The Film Development Board has been celebrating this day on the 1st of Asoj every year in 2012 with various programs. In the early days, there was a concept of celebrating this week as a movie week and concluding on the day, but gradually it started celebrating it only on 1st Asoj with various programs.
The Film Development Board is an organization established on June 30, 2000, with the main objective of promoting films and institutional development of filmmakers.
Background of Nepali movie making
Satya Harishchandra, the first Nepali language film produced in Kolkata in 1951 by DB Parajuli. After that, the Nepal-produced film Aama was released on October 7, 1964. After slowly going through various ups and downs, Nepali cinema is now succeeding in projecting its image on the world map. In 2021 BS, the then radio singer and musician Shiv Shankar Manandhar and theater actor Sushri Bhuvan Chand acted in the movie Aama. Then in 2023 BS, another much-awaited Nepali film Maitighar was released. Maitighar, starring Indian actor Mala Sinha and Nepali CP Lohani, went on to become a real-life couple.
Even now, the Maitighar Mandal in Kathmandu has been named Maitighar because it was the office of the production group of the movie Maitighar, at that time. Similarly, in 2024 BS, films like Hijo Aja ra Bholi, in 2028 BS, Parivartan, and Manko Bandh were released. Sometimes with the horror of Ratey Kaila and sometimes with Shankar's roar, sometimes with the death of a truck driver and sometimes with the history of Basanti, the Nepali cinema world has been gaining momentum. Nowadays, Nepali films that went worldwide like Kalo Pothi, Nibna Lako Diyo, and some more. Some touching video documentaries and movies like Eric Valley's Caravan and Honey hunter have reintroduced Nepal into the globe through the lens and stories. Early Nepali films made by importing skilled Indian artists and technology are now self-reliant and world-class after 50 years. Nepali wise and hardworking brains and hands who have come and studied in this field are making their bets on camera and screen. With some bitter and some sweet experiences and achievements, Nepali film has reached today's place. The sky is not the limit, my dearest Nepali movie makers, we expect a lot from you.
This year too, the audience had high hopes for Rudane, a film based on the life of Chandra Bisht, the early form of the Thaha movement. As mentioned earlier, movie halls are now indulged into a graveyard silence, movies are waiting to be released.
The heart of the Nepali audience, which has not forgotten the swift plot of Darpan Chaya, has been plundered with the touching and realistic acting of Haku Kale and Thinley Lundup. Now, Nepali films have started trading for millions and the market has expanded abroad due to the love of the Nepali community.
Aim for the camera and the screen
Let the right scene and dialogue of the society come to the heart in a film
Let's love Nepali movies
Rashtriya Bigyan Diwas, National science day of Nepal.
Science is a device with principles. It simplifies people's daily lives. But culture is life. It is bringing people and society to life. Therefore, for the prosperity of the country, it is necessary to bring science and culture together. It is necessary to preserve not only the heritage of the ancestors but also the original science, technology, and culture.
The government started celebrating National Science Day on Asoj 1, 2070 BS. The then Prime Minister Dr. The joint government formed under the leadership of Baburam Bhattarai decided to celebrate National Science Day from 2070 BS. Some of its objectives are specified.
For example, to mobilize individuals and organizations from all sections, communities, and professional sectors of the country to contribute to the field of science and technology and to raise public awareness of science and technology. Similarly, to create an environment in which policymakers from the grassroots play an active role in this process and to work for awareness and campaign-oriented work. In this context, the 'Science-Culture for Prosperity' program is envisaged.
In 1918 AD, modern science and technology education was started in Nepal from Tri Chandra College. The university was established 31 years later. After this, diversity became institutionalized in both education and research. The role played by TU in the faculties and thematic disciplines including Science and Technology, Medicine, Agriculture, and Animal Science, Forest Science, Engineering, Sociology, Geology, Anthropology, Management, Education, Law, and Humanities is remarkable.
According to a survey of the state of science and technology conducted by the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) in 2066-67 BS, the government of Nepal has invested 0.38 percent of the gross domestic product. Experts have suggested maintaining it at 1 percent.
Let's create an environment to invest 1 percent of GDP in research and development. Let's dig mines. Let's encourage research-directed markets and industries. Let's create more employment in science and technology. The retired professor from the university is a think tank. Let's create a culture of transferring their experience to the youth.
Let's understand the science within the culture. Let's learn Vedic mathematics and modern mathematics. Let's create an environment for teaching traditional technology. Let's preserve and upgrade traditional technology.
Science is life and technology is the future.
