Samajik Sewa Diwas, Social work Day of Nepal

Social service is a backbone for the development of a developing country. The Social Welfare Council celebrates Social Service Day to attract the citizens in social service and to motivate the new generation towards social service. The service and transformation of society is the epitome of civilization, we are all units of society and society is the heritage of our values and beliefs. This year's Social Service Day has a lot to offer in the Nepali environment, including the mobilization of volunteers and grants for free food distribution in Lockdown, assistance to the hungry in the streets, love and shelter for those who are stranded, blood availability, and social mobilization to it and several other dimensions.

Some news like the discrimination and misbehaves to health personals and immigrants gave a bitter brand upon Nepali society but again transformations can happen by social service and Nepali society is an example of it. Probably one of the pure humanity which is least affected and infected by COVID sustains here in Nepal.

The Social Welfare Council, a government body that has been monitoring, evaluating, and supervising various non-governmental organizations working in the field of social service, has been celebrating Social Service Day this year in the presence of various governmental, non-governmental and other organizations. The day is being celebrated from 2034 BS, Asoj 6th. We have all seen the advertisements of NGOs and INGOs in the newspapers with blue plate vehicles, these all INGOs and their implementation partners have their working modalities, targets, and interventions. Social service is a purely service-oriented work, no politics, prejudice, religion, or sect should be involved in this work.

Happy Social Service Day to all. Remember, every citizen should be able to be a social worker in that country And the person of every society is also the guardian of that society.

Hamro Patro - Connecting Nepali Communities
Hamro Patro is one of the first Nepali app to include Nepali Patro, launched in 2010. We started with a Nepali Calendar mobile app to help Nepalese living abroad stay in touch with Nepalese festivals and important dates in Nepali calendar year. Later on, to cater to the people who couldn’t type in Nepali using fonts like Preeti, Ganesh and even Nepali Unicode, we built nepali mobile keyboard called Hamro Nepali keyboard.
