World non-violence day | World Smile Day
Corona risks, lack of human mobility, and the Cold War of the world's superpowers have made human civilization and development the most sensitive place ever. If there is one thing the world needs most now, it is harmony and non-violence.
Today is the 2nd of October, the day of non-violence celebrated all over the world. World and human history has been plagued by violence and conflict. Victory in everything is the first natural desire of human beings and some desire for victory creates a state of war. The world is dreaming of peace and non-violence amidst many types of wars and violence, individual, community, national, and international.
The World Day of Non-Violence today is based on the principle of "no violence for political or social change or transformation in the world."
In Nepal too, there are examples and evidences that many people have been martyred and violence has taken place in different periods of the movement, and the interest of the people. Whether it is the anti-Rana movement or the revolution to overthrow the monarchy, the petrol price hike movement or the series of death hunger strikes, the obstacles to change in one form or another, and the status quoist/stagnant thinking are inciting violence against change.
October 2, the World Day of Non-Violence, is also the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the world leader for non-violence in the world. His 'Salt Movement' and 'Charkha Movement' are strong examples of effective non-violent movement for change. The role of non-violence in social justice is incomparable, the world community today stands united against violence as one voice.
In front of the United Nations headquarters in New York, a work by artist Carl Frederick Ruteshward, a work of art with the barrel of a gun twisted and shot as if it had been caught and stopped by someone under a gun, is known as the world-famous art of non-violence.
Only a fearless and intrepid generation that can share food and roof can advocate non-violence. The vision of a non-violent society is possible only when we can teach our children the importance of non-violence.
Come on, are you in a developed country or an underdeveloped place, chewing corn and soybeans or eating in an expensive restaurant? Imagine what our society would be like if there were no violent actions and emotions around us.
What if the streets of Syria and Afghanistan were reopened with non-violence, forgiveness, and the peace of equality? What if the world does not allow violence based on color, nationality, religion, language, love, and many other things? Martin Luther King, Jr., the American Freedom Fighter, also imagined that blacks, whites, and browns would all sit at the same table and eat, laugh, and celebrate equality.
Whether it is the Gita or the Koran, the Bible, or the Tripitaka or any other religious scripture, it is mentioned that violence does no good to anyone. Now is the time to walk on the path of smile, 'Ahimsa Paramo Dharam' i.e. non-violence is the greatest religion, don't stop smiling, and get rid of violent feelings from your mind. Don't be afraid to speak out against violence.
World Smile Day
Do you have something in us that can easily attract others? This thing reflects our attitude and our personality. Don't think too much, this thing is our smile, our sweet smile free from any formality and compulsion. A smile is a feeling that comes out of our mind which makes the people around us happy and attracts everyone to us.
Since a smile is important for everyone, Smile Day is celebrated around the world on the first Friday of October every year to reflect on the importance of a smile.
Harvey Ball, a Worcester-based artist, brought a smile to his face during his performance in 1963, and people's attention was drawn to the importance of smiles. Since then, the day has been formally celebrated since 1999.
Since the death of Harvey Ball in 2001, the "World Harvey Ball Smile Foundation", founded in his memory, has been organizing Smile Day special events in many places today. The foundation's slogan is "Improve the world with a smile."
In today's world of competition, many people work so hard to get ahead in life that they even forget to give a sweet smile. But one of the most important things in life is to smile and teach and encourage others to smile. Smiling people easily stay in everyone's mind.
Corona and terror also have an easy and simple remedy, which is smile and positive thinking, let's swear to fight the overall challenges of the world with the jewel of smile.
Happy World Smile Day to all. Always smile, be happy!
