    Sita Nawami Brata/World Dance Day

Baishakh Shukla Navami is a holy Navami in which the birth anniversary of Sita, the main character of Ramayana and the center of Hindu faith, is celebrated.

Mother Sita was married to Lord Ram in Tretayug, Sita has many other names including Mithila, Janaki, Ramnandani and Baidehi and many more. In Janakpur, which is now part of Nepal, Sita is considered to be the daughter of King Janak. However, there are various other statements and sayings about Sita's birth. Various stories that Sita was found by King Janak while plowing the field and that Sita, the daughter of the earth, re-entered the earth after the ordeal are still a household anecdotes. The Rig Veda, written before the birth of Sita, i.e. Tretayuga, depicts Sita as the mother goddess of the earth. Since it was revealed from the earth, Sita must have been named after the goddess mentioned in the Rig Veda.

    Birth of Sita
Rama was born exactly one month before the birth of Sita on the ninth day of the month of Chaitra, please consider that here we are discussing Tithis not years as these events happened uncountable years ago. Born in the Pushya Nakshatra, Sita is a great feminine example of Sanatan Darshan whose name is always mentioned. From the yellow Ramnami blanket to the temple, from the dialogues of the hymns to the movies, the sacrifices and greatness of the queen Sita are still depicted.

    Ram Sita marriage
Sita's marriage to Prince Ram of Ayodhya is very interesting, along with the story of Dhanusband. Sita, who grew up in luxury, has to live with her husband in exile and hard settlement in Lanka, even under Ravan. There are exemplary ups and downs in Sita's life, her every word and decision has taught mankind wisdom and tolerance. A segregated group of religious invaders depicts Sita as an example of gender discrimination. However, Sita's portrayal has both radiance and power.

Swami Vikekananda has clearly said that there may or may not be many Rams in the future or the past, but Sita is and will be the only one.

    Sita and the gender equality
Sita is named before Ram, so we hear Sitaram's name where Ram comes after Sita, we don’t hear anyone saying RamSita instead of Sitaram because Sita always comes first. In Sanatan Darshan, there are many links of gender equality, Sita is one of them, an empowered, powerful and leading character. Janaki temple in Janakpur, Nepal is adorned with glimpses of Ramayana, this is the city where Sita grew up. Sita is a devotion, a power and an example of women's unlimited patience, endurance and generosity.

There is Sita in Rama too and in Ramayana Sita is in every particle, inside Rama there is more of Sita than Rama himself. The world will always be colorful in the abode of Sita, the goddess of religion and sadhana.
